Prior to January 15, 2008 CCNow was our retail sales partner.  The information which follows applies only

to orders through CCNow.

Which credit cards does CCNow accept?

 

CCNow accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover/Novus cards as well as Paypal.   This includes all card types which are derivatives of those brands.  Some examples are:  Visa check cards and debit cards, MasterCard "MasterMoney", EuroCard, etc.

  How soon after an order is placed does James Stevenson Publisher ship a book?  Almost all of our orders are shipped within 24 hours from the time of purchase at CCNow.   A spot check of a recent order, placed on a Saturday, shipped that Saturday afternoon and was received by the customer just 2 days later, on Monday afternoon.  The parcel was sent from Solano County, California to San Diego County, almost 500 miles from shipping point to customer.

Does CCNow use SSL encryption?
Yes.  Our shopping-cart software runs in Secure Mode on the customer's browser, using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to encrypt sensitive data such as credit card numbers.

While selecting products and adding them to the Shopping Cart, the customer is in Non-Secure Mode.  After he/she presses the Checkout button, we switch to Secure Mode in order to collect the credit card billing and the shipping information.

All modern Web browsers support the SSL standard, but the customer can choose to checkout using Non-Secure Mode if necessary.

Do customers automatically receive a message confirming that an order was shipped?
CCNow's system sends an e-mail message to the customer after an order has been placed.  An e-mail message is also sent when the book or books have shipped.
 

I live in a state other than Delaware.  Do I pay Sales Tax?
You will appreciate CCNow.  You  pay no sales tax on any U.S. orders because our company is located in Delaware.  And if there is ever a billing inquiry or card payment question, you can call a toll-free customer service number.   Billing Inquiries for all CCNow orders:  Call toll free 1-877-CCNOW-77 or e-mail your question to service@ccnow.com
